        (03/22/2000) Faith drawing miracles

hello prayer warriors,

1. prayer note: faith drawing miracles

[Matthew 9:20-22]
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an
issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and
touched the hem of his garment:
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch
his garment, I shall be whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her,
he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath
made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from
that hour.

Here, we have a woman who have a need. Many of us have
needs. But needs does not draw miracles from God, it
is our faith that draws God's miracles. Many people
may be pressing at Jesus, but only this woman was made
whole.

Why? Because she believed. We need to believe first.
Believe not only in God's power, which many of us do,
but also in God's character. That God is
compassionate, that He loves us beyond measure, beyond
what our mind can comprehend and He loves us. That not
only is He able to heal us, but that He WILL. That is
faith. All these elements combined, believing and
expecting.

The woman with the issue of blood did not approach
Jesus and say, If I may but touch His garment, MAYBE I
shall be whole. That is what we maybe saying now most
of the time. We believe in God's sovereign power, but
we don't believe in His love and His compassion toward
us. We don't believe in His character. We think that
God wants us to continue suffering a painful disease,
or continue suffering in our poverty, or continue
suffering in our need. We need to start believing not
only that He is able, but He is willing and He will
meet our needs. This is the faith that draws the
miracle from God.
