Prayer Email archive: (07/21/2000) having no lack |
Hello prayer warriors,
1. Prayer note: having no lack [Psalm 104:10-11] 10 He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. 11 They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst. I like one of the insights posted by one of our prayer warriors, Jessica. The following is an excerpt: [Psalms 104:11-22] "When I read this passage this morning, I felt like I was back in my parents house. When I was young and living at home, I don't remember worrying about where my next meal was coming from. I didn't worry about buying new clothes. When ever the power went out, the question, "Did we pay the power bill?" never entered my mind. I never worried about these things because I trusted that my father was capable of providing these needs, so that I never had to concern myself with such things. So I lift the name of the Lord on high, for I trust in Him as my great provider. I feel like I still live in my Father's house. Any need that I have, I take it to Jesus, (and) my Father." [Deuteronomy 2:7] For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing. Yes, God is our security and He is our heavenly Father. Our security is not in our job, is not in our skills, is not in our pay-cheque, is not in our education. Our security is in God. Even when the Israelites were murmuring in the wilderness, God says that He KNOWS their walking in this great wilderness and He had been with them and they have LACKED NOTHING. Even when we are walking through our wilderness, we will not lack anything because God is our security and He will not let us suffer lack. Let us learn to hold on to what God says and lay claim to this blessing. 2. New prayer requests: i. Please pray -- lauriemwalker Please pray for my friend Steven! http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=255&table=prayer&reptable=replies ii. divorce -- sylvie98 Dear prayer partners: I have recently obtained a lawyer for a divorce. I have been married for 4yrs and I have no respect or trust in my husband. I so much enjoyed the series on forgiveness recently and hoped that it would shed some light on my situation since my husband belives this is why we are in our current situation because I can not forgive him for things he's done. I realized after reading the passage on forgiveness and trust that its up to him to earn my trust and the three things that were stated in the passage that he should do to earn that trust he has not done. He is quick to say he's sorry and it won't happen again but that is were it stops. I'm sorry can not take away or undo what was said or done. He does not want a divorce but I don't know how I can stay when I have lost all trust and respect for him. Please pray for me and my situation. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=256&table=prayer&reptable=replies iii. To come out of the financial distress that I am so awfully faced with every debt -- guest Please pray for me to just once come out of this financial distress I am placed with. I don't know where to look but yes I have turned my plight to our Lord Jesus. I prayed to Him that whatever this situation I have come to was that I did it for a good cause to help someone else but now they are just not stretching their help to me. I want them to understand my pain and help me. I can't say anything to the man of the house whose name is Eddie as he is now jobless but his daughter works. I had asked her to take out a loan from the bank and help me pay this up. She keeps giving me all excuses which I am afraid I can't believe her but cannot say anything. Please pray that Eddie also gets succeeded somewhere for a job and his daughter whose name is Shanti gets the loan done. Thanks and please reply me and pray much to our Lord Jesus to just help me once to come out of this mess. Thanks once again - Elvina Dsouza http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=257&table=prayer&reptable=replies iv. Pray for me -- scampomanes Dear Brothers and Sister, I really need prayers, I'm depressed and I need directions as well. I've been working in this company, but i guess my work was never appreciated. I'm still struggling with family bills, children to support, job that I have no idea what will lead me into. My prayer time is going nowhere, I just have this feeling of giving up, from my childhood i've been working hard and to this day i'm still working very hard to meet our ends. I know God will provide and He know's what is best for me. So Lord take away my doubts and give me a fresh feeling of joy and contentment. Assured me that everything will be alright especially with my two boys who is my greatest gift from you. Give me direction Lord if I need to change job, but I'm so scared... and help me to build up my self confidence that I can make it in the job industry. Lord guide and protect me for the sake of my children. Give me back the joy and inner peace within. In this I pray in Jesus Mighty Name. - sandy http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=258&table=prayer&reptable=replies 3.
