   Prayer Requests:
        divorce

Dear prayer partners: I have recently obtained a lawyer for a divorce. I have been married for 4yrs and I have no respect or trust in my husband. I so much enjoyed the series on forgiveness recently and hoped that it would shed some light on my situation since my husband belives this is why we are in our current situation because I can not forgive him for things he's done. I realized after reading the passage on forgiveness and trust that its up to him to earn my trust and the three things that were stated in the passage that he should do to earn that trust he has not done. He is quick to say he's sorry and it won't happen again but that is were it stops. I'm sorry can not take away or undo what was said or done. He does not want a divorce but I don't know how I can stay when I have lost all trust and respect for him. Please pray for me and my situation.

I truly understand and my heart goes out to you, but it is at this time that you must pray and continue to pray. You cannot change your husband, only God can. I went through a divorce which consumed my life and almost took my soul - literally. I called on the Lord to save me and He heard my cries, I have never had the peace that I have today. Amen. My thoughts are clear and my heart is pure. I have no more fears. Give your life to Christ and ask that your husband be born again. Change will not work- the seasons change but they are always reoccurring! Give your troubles to the Lord! Allow Christ to heal your heart and remember that this too shall come to pass. Always in prayer, Scotti.

Hello Sylvie,

I do not know your situation, but have you approached a Christian counsellor in your church? We have people coming for marriage enrichment classes in my church and have stayed together in marriage after counselling for both parties. I know that God wants us to honour our marriage vows but I also know that God has provided provisions in the bible for divorce. You should study these bible passages and search your heart and ask God for the inner witness for the right answers.

Father in heaven,

I lift up sylvie and I ask that You grant her wisdom in this situation. Father, grant her godly wisdom and give her the perfect vessels to give her godly advice. I thank You Lord for this sister and for her faith in You. I also pray for her husband that You will take care of him too.

In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
