        (05/15/2000) dealing with doubts

hello prayer warriors,

1. prayer note: dealing with doubts

[Mark 11:22]
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in
God.

After listening to so many messages about faith, and
knowing God's Word, sometimes do you find that you
still doubt? There may be times that we doubt, there
are times when I doubt.

I know that God loves me very much, but sometimes when
things happen, I wonder whether God loves me. For some
of us, it might be more fundamental things that we
doubt. When we doubt, we usually doubt His Word. We
know His Word and what His Word says and we still
doubt.

How then should we deal with our doubts? I read a book
by Russ Johnston on faith and he has this to say. Call
your doubt "sin". Jesus says "Have faith in God", so
what happens when we don't? Are we being disobedient?
If we are, the right way to deal with it is to come
before God and ask Him for forgiveness and for help to
deal with it.

This was what happened with the man who had a son who
was tormented by a demonic spirit. He had probably
tried all means when he came to Jesus and probably he
had also doubted whether it is possible for his son to
be healed. When he came before Jesus,

[Mark 9:23-24]
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all
things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried
out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou
mine unbelief.

That is the way we have to deal with our unbelief,
confess and ask God to help us. Not deal with it by
using all of the faculties of our mind and entertain
all kinds of questions and delve further and further
into rationalisation or depression. Faith does not
come from our brain power. As Reinhard Bonke said, our
mind is our doubt-box, but our heart is our faith-box.
Come before God and let Him deal with our heart. Faith
comes from hearing the Word and from our heart and
from our will: "If you can believe, all things are
possible to him that believes".

3. Continue to pray for:
i. Our hopes and dreams -- SusanKayPhillips
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for
approximately 7 years. We've experienced 2
miscarriages that left us heart-broken. Now further
problems arise with my system. After battling a
thyroid disease and radiation, my system is not
responding to medication. I ask for your prayers in
healing and an uplifting of faith. We also ask that
you pray for the blessing of children in our lives.
Thank you and God Bless
