(04/11/2000) Hope of His coming


hello prayer warriors 1. prayer note: Hope of His coming [1 Corinthians 13:12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. Since I've been growing up and getting older, I've had a greater desire and hope of His second coming. I would hope that He would come and I would hear the sound of the trumpet and He would receive me in the clouds. [1 Thessalonians 4:16-17] The bible says that this day will come like a thief in the night, no one will know when. But I anticipate and I long to see God face to face, to know Him as I am also known. I thought that day nearly came about a few months ago. I was asleep in my bed when suddenly I heard a lot of thunder and this thunder was very unusual because it was persistent and very loud and i think it almost lasted for 10 minutes. The thunder caused my neighbour's house alarm to go off and another car alarm to go off. I heard my family members waking up and there seems to be some commotion outside. The electricity tripped and as it was about 3 am at night, it was pitch darkness except for streaks of lightning flashing across my window. For that one minute in the darkness, I don't know why, I thought that maybe the Lord has come to receive me. Then suddenly, in my heart, I cried out. I said "No, I am not ready. My mom is still unsaved, my business partner is still unsaved and I started to see the faces of the unsaved people." It was like I was pleading for things to be delayed so that the people that I care about can be saved first before judgment comes. Of course, I found out later that it was just an unusually heavy thunderstorm. But this thunderstorm has created a sense of urgency for me to reach out to the lost. What should we do? Find every opportunity to share the gospel to others and share with them the love of Jesus. As prayer warriors, pray for the lost souls, pray for harvest time, name our unsaved friends one by one and pray for their salvation. 2. New prayer requests: i. Pray for healing -- tillyotoole I have a boyfriend who is a quadraplegic. His name is Dartanier Patton. He was injured in a diving accident. He wasn't saved at the time, but now is. We are believing the Lord for total and complete healing. Please join us in praying for this. We stay in the word and know that healing is always God's will. We stand and hold fast to his promises. He has improved slowly over time, but has a long way to go. He receives therapy now but never did before. We know that God is faithful. Also, I am his sole provider and sometimes this gets to be too much. He can't really do anything for himself. I have to do a lot of physical lifting as well as manage the household and tend to him . Please pray for strength, mentally and physically for me. We will endure until the end.
