Prayer Email archive: (10/18/2000) the right perspective |
Hello prayer warriors,
1. Prayer note: the right perspective [Ecclesiastes 3:14-15] 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put (added) to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear (revere and worship) before him. 15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past. How many of us have this sense of escapism, wishing that our past has not happened? This is an interesting revelation then, that God requires that which is past. Our lives and our character are shaped by our past. Without our past, we would be like little kids with no knowledge and no foundation. An oak tree has to weather more storms than a small plant. We have to decide whether we want to be an oak tree or a small plant. [Hebrews 12:2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Jesus had the right perspective when He endured the cross because He saw what was ahead. Are we looking back at our lives now with the right perspective and rejoice because we see the good that God is doing in our lives or are we going to look back with the wrong perspective never acknowledging that God requires that which was past? Joseph had the right perspective when he met his brothers who betrayed him and sold him into slavery. He said in [Gen 50:20] "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." (NIV) Now, if only we had the right perspective, we will look at our lives at a very different light. We will learn to rejoice at what God is allowing to happen in our lives because God requires that which is past. 2. New prayer requests: i. dying family -- backtohim my brother who is dying of cancer & my Dad who is very ill http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=470&table=prayer ii. pray for increase or promotion -- guest They are currently in the decision making process, as I type this request in regards to giving a pay increase/promotion. I know God will reign in my favor. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=487&table=prayer iii. my church is in need of revival -- guest I have been a member of my church for more than 2 years. When our praise service is initiated, only 2 or 3 people are participating & worshipping God. This disturbs my soul. Pray for my church that God will release his anointing in a tremendous way & evoke the saints with the Holy Spirit. For those who are searching for, let them find God. We need a special blessing from the Lord, something beyond the imagination. We are in need of the Lords refreshing, We need Revival. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=472&table=prayer iv. to turn a test into testimony -- jimandgingerda (waihun: a long story.. more on site, excerpt below) I moved 665 miles away from my family, my church & most of our friends. Trying to make it work here, I have been to a few churches but have not found one that is like my church home. I go and sit and think it boring and try another church again next week. My husband took a pay cut that has in turn hit us hard. and I've told no one that we have lost our car as a result. And bounced our rent check twice. I have taken up baby sitting for extra cash. I try to keep it together and read my bible but it gets hard. I miss going to church. I need that boost that it gives me, I miss that feeling. Pray for my family. This week my husband will turn in a resume to another company please pray for him. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=476&table=prayer 3.
