(01/14/2001) beginning a ministry


Hello prayer warriors, 1. Prayer note: beginning a ministry Many times God places a desire in our heart or He talks to us about an area that we are to serve in. If that is the ministry that God has called you into, let me tell you first what is going to happen next ... [2 Timothy 3:10-11] 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity,patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. I do not remember any ministry that I have been in that I have not suffered disappointments or persecutions. Even from fellow Christians or leaders. But I have learned one thing, my ministry can only flourish when I learn to die to myself, when it no longer become my ministry but God's. God always want to remind us that we are not to please men or to receive any glory for ourselves but to please Him in the ministry. [1 Corinthians 15:36] Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: [John 12:24-25] 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. I have to die often to myself, to what others say, to my own efforts so that God can resurrect the ministry because I know that what is mine will not last, but what is God's will last. So, if you are to begin in any ministry, begin the ministry with perserverance and by dying to yourself. If you cannot go through the disappointments, the trials or the persecutions, you will not be able to see the ministry grow into what God has planned for you in your life. 2. New prayer requests: i. In need of an Emotional Healing -- guest I am in the need of a spiritual, physical & emotional healing. I am in alot of pain right now. Can't explain it, I am so tired! Maybe a supernatural experience with God will heal me emotionally. I am having crying spells & feelings of depression. Prayer to submit to God's Will -- guest I am asking prayer so that I will submit to God, I feel God has called me to the Ministry, however I am having a hard time submitting totally. I have some baggage from my past, that I have been trying to let go & let God. It's a battle, I know my God is able to deliver. His relationship with the Lord is unknown to me. He is reported to be a member of the masons. Restore a lost friend -- guest I have lost a friend over a miscommunication! Please pray that me & my dear friend's relationship will be restored! She is just like a sister to me. In 1998 we lost a dear mom & wife, grandmother. Ever since, my father has been in emotional pain. He has been a devoted christian all of his life. However we are all human & feel pain, this is natural. I can see the loneliness on his face, the pain in his heart. He even expressed to me in a 5 page letter, He said, "You don't know what it feels like to be married for 57 years to a wonderful woman, and then God calles her home." I know he is in pain, because when I look at him, I can feel it. He also suffers from "Gout", it is related to arthritis. Nevertheless he has not given up on God, He continues to live for God!! I desire for my father to be healed of this arthritis & of all emotional wounds!! He has been going through numerous tests & will probably undergo surgery next week but there is still a lot of uncertainty. Pray for his healing if it is in God's will. Also pray that he & his wife will have the strength & peace to get through this.
