(11/20/2000) sensitize your spirit man


Hello prayer warriors, 1. Prayer note: sensitize your spirit man We've been talking about discovering the will of God and that it is our spirit man that communicates with God. So, we need to protect our spirit which we've been talking about in the last two emails and we need to help our spirit man become more sensitive to God. How do we do that? [Hebrews 4:12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Philosophers and the natural world find it difficult to divide between soul and spirit. Many non-Christians I talk to believe that the soul is the same as the spirit. The reason is because they do not have the Word of God. The Word of God is so powerful and sharp and is able to pierce and divide between the soul and the spirit. Many times when we do not know whether it is our soul speaking to us or the Spirit of God speaking to us, we at least know that we need more of the Word of God to be able to divide and discern. When we study the Word of God, the Word reveals to us God's will in our lives, the Word reveals the character of God. If we cannot understand the character of God and His Will and our minds are not renewed, even if God is to speak to us, we might find His Words difficult to accept. This is because many times we already have strongholds in our minds. [2 Corinthians 10:3-6] 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Many people think that these strongholds are spirits or princes of the air. But read again. These strongholds are imaginations, arguments and thoughts. We have been brought up and taught and learned many things (sometimes many wrong things which include spiritual doctrines as well) that go against the grain of God's Word. Until we renew our mind, how can we discern between God's Word and our own words? The desires of our mind and the desires of our hearts can be two very different things. It is only when we come to God openly and embrace His Word that we can learn to discern and let the truth set us free. 2. Prayer requests: i. Victor -- christiandeb Pray for Victor, a young homosexual man. His Mum is a lovely christian woman but Victor is currently backslidden. His T cell count is very low & this means that it appears that he will have full blown AIDS very soon. A fresh anointing -- christiandeb I would like prayer for a fresh anointing. I want to walk so close to the Lord that others always see Jesus in me. I want to be blessed to be a blessing both in my local church & on these sites. Sometimes I feel so inadequate. A prayer for me and a friend -- abrown I really don't know where to begin. I am having one of those mornings where my eyes burn from wanting to cry, but nothing comes out. I have been a "relationship" for a little over a year now, & i really don't know where things are going. I mean i feel i am in love with this person, & when things are going wrong between us, i pray to God for guidance, & a sign if maybe this isn't the right person. & somehow things keep going right back to this person, but has a sign been given & me being blinded by "love" & not see it? I asked this person last night "why don't you love me?" & his response is that i do, but i put up a bearer as to not get to close to people. Which was a shock to my soul. What can i do? And also this person is very talented & has prospects of getting a recording contract with universal records. Unhealthy relationship -- guest My 20 year old daughter has had an unhealthy relationship with her boyfriend. She is ready to let go. He will not. A friend -- shoecjp I have a friend who has an alcohol & drug problem. She has no self esteem. She doesn't realize that God loves her. I pray that she will find the Lord & He will help deliver her from her addictions & restore her heart. I tell her that God loves her, I encourage her to come to church.
