        (03/25/2000) Faith is...

hello prayer warriors

1. prayer note: faith is...

[Hebrews 11:1]
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen.

We talked in our last email about the woman with the
issue of blood, who through her faith, touched the
garment of Jesus and was made whole. She believed and
she expected. [Matthew 9:20-22]

This is best described by our scripture above in
Hebrews 11. Faith is the substance of things hope for,
the evidence of things not seen.

That is sometimes our biggest problem. We have not
seen it yet. How can we believe when things in the
natural are not as we would hope it to be or is not in
line with the Word of God for our lives? We are still
sick, in poverty, in need, etc. How can we take
possession of the Word of God for ourselves, pray and
expect when things in the natural are pressing against
us and are so real?

That's why it's called faith. If you have already
received it, you do not need to exercise faith. Faith
is exercised by the woman with the issue of blood when
she had a pressing need and reality was staring her in
the face. But she believed in something greater than
the reality and something greater than herself. That's
why, she arose out of her situation and pressed on to
seek God's healing in spite of her circumstances.

So, what should we do then?
[Hebrews 11:6]
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for
he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and
that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek
him.

Diligently seek Him, expect and believe. Have faith,
visualize yourself possessing what you will be having
and do not see yourself always in your present
reality. Because when you have faith, you have the
substance of things that you are hoping for and you
have the evidence of the things not seen.

2. New prayer requests
i. Pray for my daughter -- dot
My oldest daughter, Rebecca, and I are having some
difficulty. She has left home with her 2 year old
daughter and ran off to Utah with a total stranger.
She goes through this every 2 years and usually hits
rock bottom before she calls for help. I'm having a
hard time dealing with this - as this is the 3rd time
she's done this.

3. Prayer update
i. update on Gideon -- melissa
Our son Gideon Josiah is now over two weeks old, he is
still on oxygen and getting help with breathing.
His oxygen is between 60- last night as high as 100%
His rate is between 33-77
He has a major yeast infection
The longer he is getting help with oxygen or breathing
the more harm it does his body.

I ask that if you could to please stand in agreement
with us that our son Gideon will be taken off the
machines, that the machines will not have had any
effect on him, his lungs will be perfect and this
yeast infection will be gone in the name of Jesus.
Jesus told us in [Matthew 18:19] that if two people on
earth agree and ask for anything, it shall be done for
them.
