Topical Verses: Faith, what is it? |
[Heb 11:1]
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I believe God has given each one of us a measure of faith [Rom 12:3]. And our faith (as well as gifts)will be increased and fill up by the Lord Himself till we all come to the unity of the Faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ [Eph 4:13]. How does the Lord increase our faith? How long does it take to fill it up? The answer is so simple really: God is so loving that He wouldn't give or burden us with things that we can't handle at the particular period in time. Faith, has to be worked on.(James 2:17) If we see miracles and didn't write it down in our journal, a few years later, most probably our mind will termed the miracles as 'coincidences or circumstantial happenings'. Most of the time we can't feel the physical manifestation of God. Sometimes God stay silent in our perceived hour of dire needs, even to prophets. 'Why doesn't God speak to me now? Why does God allow these things to happen to me?'. If these thought patterns were allowed to roam, we will find our faith decreasing in one aspect or another. God is always a Good God. He protects us, won't allow things to happen that we can't cope with, always giving us solutions through His wisdom, strength, and many more gifts. Sometimes we just can't see His helping hands. It's so important to build up our faith and not let the enemy steal it away. How? We can't see God but we can see His creations and love abounds everywhere and all the time. Read His Words. Hebrews 11 is a good chapter on how those early patriachs and prophets handle their faith. Pray. His Spirit will lead us as we learn to be more sensitive to Him. Hallelujah! |
