        A Thought on Rap Music
 
I used to listen to Rap & Hip-Hop and a bunch of other wordly music. Satan had tricked into thinking there was nothing wrong with it. Ask yourself this: "Is it pleasing to God? And "Would you be ashamed to listen to if Jesus was standing right there beside you?" (He is, by the way) Anything that advocates sin whether it be lust, anger, hate, sexual immorality (premarital sex, fooling around, sexual thoughts) drugs, alcohol or anything of the sort is of the world. God says you can either love Him or love the world but you can't do both. Beat or no beat it's still wrong and justifying and rationalizing it doesn't make it make any better. Every time you listen to it or do other things that you know are aren't right, you're just putting one more spear into the side of the one that died for you? Is that what you really want to do? Show some apprecitation and gratitude that you were so free given yet undeserving of.

(Let us not judge others and their forms of expression. Not all Rap/Hip-hop music carries a bad message. There are some Rap artists that use their life experiences as testimonies to give God all the praise, honor, glory and thanks for helping them through tough situations. Let's also not blame Rap music entirely but put some of the blame on the mainstream radio & tv stations that will only play the songs that corrupts our society (with the exception of Kanye West's "Jesus Walks"). Check out Lil iROCC Williams or The Cross Movement; then let's revisit this topic.)
