Topical Verses: Holy Spirit: Human or spiritual "co |
Ok, this all started with my lecturer basically... She gave me these verses. She (my lecturer) constantly denies that the Holy Spirit exists as just a force that drives people to do things through Jesus, but she believes that the Holy Spirit is a human because of its humanlike characteristics.
Here are several verses which attribute the holy spirit to humanity (Matt 26:38, John 11:35, John 19:28, Matt 21:18, Luke 22:44, 1 Cor 15:3). The Bible she uses is the King James Version. She claims that the holy spirit is a he, not an it. In my opinion, if the holy spirit is human, then you must attribute all the fallicies of human beings to it as well. Myself, i do not belive the Holy Spirit is human, because humans are sinful, and the holy spirit is certinaly not sinful. It may also help to say that I am a lutheran. I have receieved all these ideas from a pentecostal uni. Could some people state their views and possibly clarify my/my lecturers opinion? |
