Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

In the NIV its translated bit more in line with the answer to the question "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tatoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord."

The NIV reads ring in her nose. It seems to suggest piercing was acceptable.

??? Not sure if that applies, up to you and God I suppose. But if your body is His temple we should treat it as so. I would say certain tattoos are OK. My friend has a very cool one of the Alpha and the Omega.
