hello,
[Ephesians 5:18]
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
I don't think God forbids us from drinking. many times, we forbid ourselves and we institute laws and say that if we do this or we do that, we are not accepted by God.
[Galatians 3:3]
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
it is easy to get back into "laws" and say that we can't do this or we can't do that. We live by grace and we have the inner prompting of the Holy Spirit to lead us for each situation.
When can we not drink? If we are to stumble someone else, maybe a new believer, if we are to drink, then we don't drink. That is what it means by walking in the Spirit.
This was what was said in the Bible about eating food offered to idols. If we sanctify the food and have a clear conscience, we can eat all kinds of food but if by eating, we stumble someone else, then we can choose not to eat.
[1 Corinthians 8:9]
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of your's become a stumbling block to them that are weak.
Do you have a clear conscience when people ask you to drink? If you don't feel comfortable, don't drink. If u feel comfortable, u can take a little wine, but in moderation.
that is my view.
