Are you asking what is the benefit of doing Bible Study? There are different scriptures which address the topic.

Those which immediately come to my mind can be found in Timothy. For example, 2 Timothy 2:15 says: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Later, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

However, a search through scripture also reveals others, especially in the Old Testament. Deuteronomy 11:18 says, "You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead." Joshua 1:18 says, "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success." Psalm 119:11 says, "11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You."

In other words, we study the Bible for the same reason we study anything which is to learn all we can. Specifically, we want to know how to live for God and to avoid doing wrong. We also want to memorize scripture, so that it guides our lives in everything we do. We study the Bible as if it were a map to a treasure, because it's our way to know who God is.
