Great point. But as a believer or christain we undergo temptation everyday. If we fall in the temptation that does not mean we deny God or hate him. If you die in the process your soul will go to heaven. Being that you had accepted as your Lord and savior. You can go to church everyday in the year and clam that you are a christain, once you not tranform with the only spirit and openly accept Jesus as your Lord and savior, your works in the church is of no good. The only people that will see the face of God are those who are save. Once save is always save. My point is works cannot take you to heaven. What take you to heaven is salvation. 

Hi, This is a very good question. What happens when we backslide. There is a very powerful preacher whom I really respect. His name is Joseph Prince of New Creation Church in Singapore and he was asked the same question.

His answer was, he does not believe that a Christian who has had an encounter Christ and accepted him is capable of denouncing Him. So stories of Christians becoming Buddhists or changing their stripes means that they did not really know Christ or accepted Christ in the beginning. Otherwise, we would not be able to denounce Him. So, I'm not too sure what you mean by backslide, but I believe that when we believe and confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, we are saved.

[Romans 10:9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[Romans 10:10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If you are a true believer, and that is your question, how can you truly deny Him.

You should also read the context of this verse in Romans 10 from verse 3 to verse 8. Who shall go to heaven or who shall descend into the deep? The answer is there. We do not go about establishing our own own righteousness but submit to Christ' righteouness. His work on the Cross is finished. We confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead and we are saved. For the with heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I appreciate your ideas n I'm learning something new from you but the bible says its not by work that any man should boost. God is looking at your heart not your works. He do appreciate your works and you will be rewarded for your works. Your works cannot take you to heaven. You accepting Jesus are your Lord and savior is what taking you to heaven. When you are save you are indeed save. Sin cannot make you unsave. Sin is totally wrong and that's why when you sin God punish you for every sin you commit. 

My point is that if you believe that Jesus died for you and you accept him as your Lord and savior and for some reason you start to kill for example, but you denial him and you die in that process , your soul will be save. Salvation is not by works but by accepting Jesus as your lord n savior. No one is perfect. By u killing don't mean you not a child of God. Your child is your child no matter what that child does. We are God children n once recognize n die your soul will go to heaven

You only need to confess to God no one else, speak it with your mouth and truely repent and your sins shall be forgiven.
