   General Questions:
        Women's Haircuts

[1Corinth. 11:2-16]is part of Paul's letter to the Church in Corinth and it talks about how women should not cut their hair because it is their glory and should be kept long, but dishonors them in prayer if it is short/"uncovered."

I was wondering if the no-haircut rule still applies today. Someone said it doesn't but [Matthew 24:4] says "Take heed that no one deceives you..."

I was really wondering because I recently cut my hair and want to keep it up because it looks really good on me, but if God opposes it I'll grow it back. Plus, Cece Winans, a wonderful gospel singer, recently cut hers and I was confused whether it was right or wrong.

Could someone please tell me if it's alright for women to cut their hair in these modern times. PLEASE submit a verse that tells me. I will be very appreciative.

I believe that WHATEVER is in the Bible is good, then, now and always. Nothing was just good for some other time period. The Bible says that the women's hair should not be shaven or shorn. Shorn means cut. I believe that it is not long hair that the scripture is talking about, but "Uncut" hair. I do agree that a women's hair is her glory and s/b uncut.

To people in that time frame, women with short hair were generally prostitutes. If you do some background research on that time frame--I think you'll find that the verse is just about traditions of the time. As long as you honor God with your body--there shouldn't be a problem.
Godspeed...

In Corinth at the time of Paul Short Hair, Long Hair was a culture tradition . Paul said that he had no such custom nor did the church.

Gaidin,

I do not understand what you are saying.

Now I do not understand what 1 Corinthians 6 is talking about.

Please be specific and try another reply.

Matthew 24:4??

That has nothing to do with haircuts whatsoever. It has to do with the end times and when the 2nd coming would be about.

Please go on and finish the rest of 1 Cor 11. Especially [1 Corinthians 11:16]

he himself says that it's not a custom.
