General Questions: Homosexuality |
Can you give me references in the bible that CLEARLY highlight an opinion on homosexuality? Please bare in mind that it is posible for 2 people of the same sex to fall in love with each other. I know that sex without love and respect is a sin.
Thanks |

if you are a true child of God and some reason you backslide and die in sin where will your soul go? Heaven or hell? |

Dear Friends in Christ, Everyone has already listed many verses that clearly highlight not opinion, but God's word, on homosexuality. I feel somewhat qualified to speak on this because I have fought this temptation for many years. I know, all to well, how hard it is to love someone or desire someone physicially, and yet know that God has said you cannot be happy in that relationship. It seems so good, so right. There are many, many very kind gay people. But this does not change the fact that God says it is wrong. I do not believe it is possible for a Christian to be happy while living a lifestyle that is in direct contradiction to God's word. Homosexuality -- or adultery for that matter -- is. Homosexuals are often singled out for special abuse by Christians, but the truth is anyone who continues to live a life of sin faces the same problem as the homosexual. None of us will ever be perfect, and we will never be as Christ was. But we try. We pray. We ask Him to lead us there. We try to fill our lives with His word and with prayer. Through His grace, He has led me away from this lifestyle. The woman at the well was told to "go and sin no more." Did Jesus literally mean never sin again? Perhaps. But what I believe the translation means stop living a life of sin. We cannot continue in something we know is wrong and expect God to bless it. The emphasis here must be on God's love for everyone, God's help for everyone, God's ability to heal. But anyone who has never experienced this cannot know how hard it is to turn away. That does not change the fact that this is displeasing to God. I believe God is God, and can forgive whomever He wishes, but I also believe it is impossible to please Him while living this lifestyle -- or any other than continues in a life of sin, be it lying, adultery, sloth, greed, hate, strife, envy, pride or any of the other sins we humans are so capable of. The hope, my friend, is that if you turn to God He will help you see the path He has planned for you, and I don't believe God ever planned for two men or two women to be together. We all love you, but more importantly, God loves you. You should also not overlook other resources that God has given to help overcome. One is porn-free.org which deals also with homosexuality. Christians will pray with you and for you. Remember, if you set out on a path of prayer and obedience, God will not abandon you. Just as for the prodigal son, the porch light is always on. |

In the book of genesis chapter 19, it talks about SODOM and GOMORRAH and why they were destroyed. It was because they were Homosexual, "their sin is so grievous-" There are many references to the homosexual life style throughout the Bible. We can not be true christians and live a homosexual life style. We are to hate the sin, but love the sinner. Open your heart to the true word of God and let him lead you. God Bless |

'joy' had an interesting answer and I like the nonjudgemental stance and the kindness that came through the message. 'kevin' on the other hand, will hopefully grow wiser in his years and learn to spell when preaching. |

I disagree with the below that says that homosexuality is okay as long as you love God. If that were treu then would it be okay for a man to live with his stepmother as long as he loved God. You may say 'yes' but the answer is no. Check out 1 Corinthians, it talks about the church going along with a man living with his stepmom. God used Paul to rebuke the church and made them kick this person out of church. God said that no one should even converse with him. So if you're saying alterante lifestyle like that is okay, but God says it is wrong, and if you live like that then no one should even talk to you. This is my thought on this. Feel free to ask back abotu this, but check out the passage in 1st Coronthians. God bless! |

Here you go . . . that's one verse about homosexuality, I'm looking at the innumberable verses that say do not judge and love one another without discrimination. God loves everyone equally and without prejudice . . . homosexuality is not God's will, but it's the same sin as lying or being mean. He loves everyone, and I'm quite sure He doesn't care about their sexual preferences, as long as they love Him and have accepted Him. God bless. |
