Today is Jasrah's 12th birthday!

Jasrah is making steady improvement. She can almost stand herself up. Once someone helps her stand, she can balance herself and stand for a while. She can even take a few wobbly steps by herself. She can eat and go to the bathroom herself. She is also steadily improving in her speech and communication. Graydon also said that she is "happy."

The doctors and therapists met last week to discuss Jasrah's progress and future treatment. They will be meeting with Graydon and Laura this week to discuss their recommendations.

As a side note, Graydon did a Camp Flintlock event at Mt. Vernon with the Vice-President's wife this past weekend. He said it went very well. Not only was this a great event for their business, but Graydon also had many opportunities to share how God has been watching over their family and how they see this trial as an opportunity to love God more.

A few changes regarding the Stephensons. I just talked with Graydon, and it appears that they will be sending Jasrah to a Rehab Facility in D.C. instead of one in Raleigh. The facility here ended up not being available or ideal for Jasrah’s needs. They have located a facility in D.C., and are in the process of filling out all the paperwork to get her admitted. This means obvious challenges to the Stephensons, as they will be far from home. Pray that God will continue to guide them in this process. Most likely, Jasrah will get moved to the new facility on Tuesday of next week.

Jasrah is doing very well. She is able to carry on real conversation via voice, hand gestures, writing, etc. She is awake frequently throughout the day, and she is already undergoing speech therapy and some physical therapy (that is pretty tiring). She is aware of what has happened and doesn’t really like being treated “as a baby” right now, but she seems to understand that it’s necessary right now. Someone is staying with her around the clock right now; Graydon said that there is often a “flurry of activity” through the day as things happen. Jasrah knows who she is, who everyone else is, and seems to have retained most of her mental capacity. The left side of her body is still less responsive and struggling more due to her injuries.

Continue interceding on the Stephenson’s behalf, and give thanks for what God has done!

Psalm 105:1-5 (ESV)
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,
