Dear jesusluvsu,
What a wonderful thing that you desire a godly husband to enter your life! What an awesome struggle it also can be to keep strong that desire when faced with the temptations of life! I have been dealing with this very thing, and this helps me to realize God's long term picture for marriage:
Lord,
You are my Strength and my Provider and I will praise Your name all day and every day. I am never far from Your loving hands, and You watch over me constantly. You have arranged my life and all the circumstances in it to produce something beautiful out of me. I will submit myself to Your hands, my Creator, for how is it possible for You to create waste?
I will wait patiently for the promise given to me and my family, for You will set us in the high places with You, and we will live in Your sweet abundance all the days of our lives. Leaders, Preachers, Doctors, and Men of God will be brought forth out of my line, as well as bright lovely women who shine in the light of Your love like beautiful diamonds. These women will be ladies of substance and of worth, with a quiet dignity that is passed on from generation to generation.Their husbands will look at them with a praise in their eyes and lips, and the children that spring up from their blessed union will grow up like happy green olive trees around their table.
In those days laughter will spring up in me like a bubbling brook, and I will be more than completely satisfied. They will look at me as someone who has met with wisdom and calls her friend, as a gentle warrior who has repaired the breach. And I will say that is has been a wonderful life, and glorify my God.
In all Lord, You will be at the head, guiding and protecting this little flock, for You are the Good Shepherd who gives His life for the sheep. My family will know Your voice and Your touch, and have tender grateful hearts towards You. You will be their friend, and they will be Yours.
If for this amazing inheritance I need to submit to Your stretching and pulling on my soul for a time, then what a blessing it is to be had. For Almighty God to consider the dust that makes up my frame, and the tedious sameness that makes up my life, with care and concern is a mystery to me. The Maker Of Worlds knows my little name and hears my pindrop cry!
When I read this it makes me understand that God wants to do something dynamic for many generations to come, starting with me and my everyday choices. And this is also true for you. Who knows if another Martin Luther King might be in your family line? Ruth made the right choice by choosing Boaz, and they were part of the ancestry of Jesus! I pray that the Lord will guide you and keep you on the path of His perfect will, and for a sensitivity to the leadings of the Spirit in your life.
God Bless You!
