   Prayer Requests:
        Please pray for my niece's healing
 
Last Thursday night (May 23rd)my eighteeen-year-old niece, Shannon Doughten, was in a terrible head-on collision near our home in Spring, Texas. (The driver of the truck that hit her was passing someone and didn't make it in time.) She was taken to Ben Taub Hospital - the leading trauma center in our area. When she arrived, she went straight into surgery, where her spleen was removed. She has some damage to her liver, (which they say will heal on its own). She has a broken leg and a deep laceration on her knee. However, the most serious problem at this point is a severe brain injury. The doctors have alleviated the pressure but have to "wait it out" as the hours go by. Obviously our prayer is for complete restoration. Right now Shannon's in a drug-induced coma. We've just been told that her lungs have collapsed. However, God has reminded us time and time again tonight that He hasn't fallen off of His throne. He is still God. He is still a GOOD God. Right now, thanks to modern medicine and God's grace, Shannon is in no pain. She's in a completely peaceful state. We are believing that this horrible tragedy will turn triumphant as God heals Shannon and her testimony is spread. We're convinced He will use this time to sweep many into the Kingdom. We also believe He's going to heal Shannon miraculously. We're asking you to pray - pray that God will spare her life and that He will use this horrible experience to draw others closer to Him. We will never be able to thank you enough for your prayers and concerns. In Christ's love, Janice Thompson

Father in heaven, hear our prayers. I thank You for Janice's faith and hope in You. Lord, please heal Shannon. Let there not be any brain damage. Heal her liver, lungs and other parts of her body as well. Give the doctors Your wisdom to treat Shannon's condition. Guide them, O Lord.

Lord, may Your glory be shown in all these trials. Help her family members to continue to trust in You, that they would be a testimony to others around them. Even as Shannon recovers, relieve whatever pain she may be in, and grant her Your peace, and surround her with Your angels. Strengthen her physically and spiritually as well. Heal her, O Lord, we pray.
