        (02/26/2000) Fresh manna

hello prayer warriors

1. Prayer note: fresh manna

We covered the right condition of our heart to hear
God's word. Now, that we have that, many of us may
wonder "How does God speak to us?"

[Job 33:14]
For God does speak-now one way, now another though man
may not perceive it.

God speaks to us in many ways. For those of us who
feel we have never heard God speak to us, I have some
good news for you. One of the ways is through the
Bible.

[2 Timothy 3:16-17]
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works.

The word inspiration here in the Greek means: God
breathed, product of the breath of God.

I like the way one of my sister-in-Christ puts it. She
says that when she prays and asks God to speak to her,
she will turn to the Bible and read it and God will
speak to her through His word. It is that simple. When
we read the Bible, the Holy Spirit will teach us and
speak to us through the Bible.

That's why I call it fresh manna from heaven. Many of
us do not read the bible but rely on others to read
the bible and give us their interpretation of it. Why
don't we get the fresh manna for ourselves? Take
possession of the Word and apply it into our lives.
Get fresh manna from God for yourself EVERY day. How
do we do that?

Make a commitment to God. Read His word every day, it
only takes 10-15 minutes to read one chapter of the
bible everyday. I'll give you a simple methodology.
i. Before you put down the Bible, reflect on that
chapter and select a verse that you like from that
chapter.
ii. Ask yourself which part or phrase of the verse
that you like.
iii. Ask yourself why?

Try this, and you will get some revelation because you
are meditating on His word. Take that revelation and
let that be your manna for the day. I've done this in
my life and I find that I can rely on that new word or
that new revelation the whole day. I learn something
new everyday.

prayer warriors to join in to pray for Billy.
Apparently, he is a young child and he is in the
hospital with blood clots in his lungs. Please pray
for him and pass this along. Thank you. "
