        (02/22/2000) Among thorns

hello prayer warriors

1. Prayer note: among thorns
This is a continuation on the series on the condition
of our hearts when hearing God.

The third type of soil:
[Luke 8:7] And some fell among thorns; and the thorns
sprang up with it, and choked it.
[Luke 8:14] And that which fell among thorns are they,
which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked
with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and
bring no fruit to perfection.

Well, we may look at these verses and say that this
does not apply to me. Look again. Look at the parable
of the prodigal son [Luke 15:11-31]

There were two situations in which the prodigal son
could not hear the voice of his father:
i. He left the father to pursue the pleasures of this
world
ii. He was hiding in a pigsty because he was too
ashamed and too guilty to face his father.

Sometimes, we are like the prodigal son. We are either
too busy with the pleasures and cares of this world
for God or we are too guilty and condemned and we hide
from God. Things have not changed. After Adam enjoyed
the pleasures from eating the fruit of the tree of
good and evil, he hid from God because he was too
ashamed of what he has done.

This was a revelation to me. I always thought that
when I did something wrong that the Holy Spirit was
doing His work to condemn me and I would feel really
bad. But what does the Bible say?

[John 3:17]
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[1 John 3:20]
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our
heart, and knoweth all things.

I heard this revelation from hearing a message by
Joseph Prince. He said the Holy Spirit NEVER condemns
us.

[John 16:8-10]
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and
ye see me no more;

Here he said, the Holy Spirit convict the world of sin
(in singular and not plural) because we believe not on
Jesus. That is when we first accept Christ, the Holy
Spirit convicts us of sin. But the Holy Spirit always
points us to His righteousness, what Jesus has done on
the cross for us. So, everytime we feel condemned, it
is our heart that condemns us. Don't wallow in that
guilt and condemnation but quickly turn to God, ask
for forgiveness and repent. If we have that attitude,
we will always be close to the Father and not run away
or hide.

God has left her as well. "

i. healing by alon
I've been in touch with alon. Susie was in the
hospital last week for four days trying to get her
weight up and control the pain better. God is
wonderful, suddenly last week, I remembered alon and
susie in our prayer email even though she has not
given me any update on that. Let us pray and continue
to fight for her and really pray for the healing in
her life.

for his salvation.
