hello prayer partners
1. prayer note: shama` If God were to appear to you in a dream and ask you, "Ask what I shall give you?", what would you have asked for? The same thing was asked of Solomon. What do you think he asked for? Most of us would say, wisdom. The real answer that Solomon gave can be found in [1 Kings 3:9] "So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?" The original word that was used was shama` which stands for a discerning heart or to hear attentively, discern diligently, listen and obey, understand, or to perceive. And the speech pleased God and God gave to Solomon a wise and an understanding heart [1 Kings 3:12]. So, to start with, to hear from God, let us start with asking God for a discerning and listening heart. I'm sure as the speech pleased Solomon, God will be pleased and we will learn to hear from Him and to gain wisdom. You can read [1 Kings 3:5-15] for the bible passage on this: http://mydevotion.com/logos/bibleverse.asp?book=1Kings&chap=3&hashno=5 2.
