Prayer Email archive: (02/08/2000) Make your prayer requests specific |
hello prayer partners
1. Prayer note: make your prayer requests specific Lester Sumrall, in his book, The names of God, mentions in one of his chapters on how to pray. He says that when we pray, we have to tell God what we are praying for and in WHAT WAY we want God to help in the situation. Don't say, "Lord, work out this problem that I have", say in what way you need His help in resolving it. [James 5:15] The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much". The word effectual means that you should pray for specific "effects", specific results that you feel are in keeping with the will of God. A vague, general prayer probably indicates that you're really not too concerned about the outcome of your requests. 2. New Prayer Requests i. Pray for tammy and kevin tammy and kevin are having marital problems. kevin is disabled and cannot work. tammy just had surgery and has not been able to work. so, they are both financially strapped. pray for them and their family and that kevin will get his disability funds granted. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=35&table=prayer&reptable=replies ii. pray for joby bc has posted a prayer request for joby, one of her students. he had a heart attack on Thursday and is going for a serious operation today. pray for God's protection and healing. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=36&table=prayer&reptable=replies 3.
