(10/11/2000) a time to cast away

Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: a time to cast away

[Ecclesiastes 3:5b-6]
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from
embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time
to keep, and a time to cast away;

Such a wonderful revelation. One of the progression in
our lives is when we learn to refrain from embracing
and learn to lose and learn to cast away. There is a
time to get and a time to lose. As we grow older, all
of us almost invariably start to understand this.

We may lose loved ones through death, we may lose
relationships, or even lose possessions or ministries.

My ex-boyfriend of 9 years left me for someone else.
When I confronted him again 3 months after that and
asked him how he could do this to me, his reply was
... "I don't understand, it is already in the past".
So, the question is this, when we release or lose or
let go, what are we releasing? Am I releasing him ...
I don't think so, because I think that he has his own
will and has already released himself. I am releasing
ME.

The same in our lives. There are times that we need to
let go because God wants to bring us to another place.
There's no point in holding on to something that we
can't embrace anymore, we can't get and we can't keep.
It is better to refrain, to lose and to cast away
because I believe that when we learn to do that, we
learn to release ourselves into new beginnings that
God has placed into our lives as part of our
progression.

[Deuteronomy 15:1-2]
1 At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a
release.
2 And this is the manner of the release: Every
creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall
release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or
of his brother; because it is called the Lord's
release.

Seven years? The number representing perfection. At
the end of every seven years, we are to let go. Let go
of everyone who owes us anything, let go of what we
think is rightfully ours and make a release. I think
this is something that is good because God always let
us start all over again, on a fresh start, it is like
a perfect circle. Letting God do His work in our lives
by learning to release, by letting go and letting God.
