Hello prayer warriors, 1. Prayer note: ordinary believers' ministry [Ephesians 4:11-12] And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: We talked in the past prayer emails about being kings. Priests are to bring in the vision of God and kings are to bring in the provisions. Does that mean that by being a king, we do not have to be involved in the ministries of the church but just be totally involved in making money for the kingdom of God? [Matthew 28:19-20] 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. [2 Timothy 2:2] And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Are these verses only for priests or are these verses also for laypeople or kings as well? I believe that in the end times, the ministry that will make great impact in bringing in the end time harvest is the ordinary believer's ministry. God has given us apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for ... the EQUIPPING of the SAINTS. In [Acts 2:47] we see that believers were added to the church daily but in [Acts 6:1] we see that disciples were multiplied. That is what happens when we teach people the word and we disciple others. God has restored all the offices of the five fold ministers so that we can be equipped, go out there and disciple others. Many times discipling is not just done by priests but by lay people ... that is how we as a Church can experience exponential growth. All of us can disciple others but I am not suggesting that everyone go out and do that now. God may have called some of us to spend more time in our business to bring in the finances and some of us to use our talents to help others. Pray about it, ask God how you can contribute to the kingdom of God ... be it finances, talent or time. We all have a cup of energy and we have to ask God for wisdom as to how we fit into the whole picture and move as God leads us. 2. New prayer requests: i. The Rock Church's home destroyed by fire--rockchurch Our church building was totally destoyed by fire on Sunday, September 24, 2000. Pray for strength within our body & wisdom for our Pastor & Leadership with all decisions that will need to be made during our re-building effort. I really am struggling to get my focus back where it belongs. as a single mom & woman, I am struggling with being alone again. Praise Jesus for healing her physical wounds! For some reason she doesn't have the will to try & walk again. We have moved her out of the nursing home & into one of her son's homes. Troubled marriage -- glory Help. My marriage is faltering. I've been saved for 20 years, but am still alone in the spirit. His mother has caused so many problems - it's like a Jezebel spirit works through her. I don't want to leave him, I know that the Bible says it's not to be done, but this is worse than being alone. Pray for my aunt Dixie (PLEASE) -- guest Aunt Dixie is a very sick lady. She has cancer & it is all over her, she is in horrible pain & the medication isn't doing any good. Urgent prayer request -- pamela Pray for Mechelle Rose Baker! She was in a car accident yesterday, 5 months pregnant & also had her 2 year old daughter with her! She has lost the baby, her 2 year old is in the hosptal for observation & they think she will be ok! Mechelle is in critical condition at UK medical center! She is in very bad shape & needs all the prayers that she can get, she isn't a christian! JS will start his full time position on October 1. b. DL has a third interview next week. Please continue to pray. c. JL has not yet received a worker's compensation check. He was injured on September 1. ii. prayer update -- missaudrey Thanks to everyone who sent me messages, as well as those who prayed for me. I had a rather large ovarian cyst that I was afraid would have to be surgically removed. The shot my doctor gave me 6 weeks ago has reduced the cyst down to 1/4 of the size it was before. He feels that the shot is continuing to be effective, and my cyst will go away without the surgery. Praise the Lord! 4.
