        (10/03/2000) standing in the gap
Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: standing in the gap

[Ezekiel 22:30]
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up
the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the
land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

We are familiar with this scripture because this
scripture has been used to call in intercessors to
stand in the gap and pray.

I heard a tape by Chris Gabbriot and he does not
believe that God was calling for intercessors to stand
in the gap and make up the hedge. His reasoning was
because two of the greatest intercessors were there at
that time, Ezekiel and Jeremiah. What was missing and
who was God looking for?

The answer is in [Revelations 1:6]
And hath made us kings and priests unto God ...

The kings were missing. King Jehoiachin was carried
captive to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar [Ezekiel 1:3]. He
was succeeded by Mattaniah (also known as Zedekiah)
whom Nebuchadnezzar placed on the throne. The prophet
Jeremiah was his counsellor, yet "he did evil in the
sight of the Lord".

When kings are not functioning properly in the kingdom
of God, we have a missing link. Who is going to
provide the provision and work together with the
priests to fulfill the vision?

We need to rise up to our calling. Kings are known as
the "can-ones". I can succeed, I can conquer, I can
excel with the grace of God! We have to conquer any
strongholds in our mind that we can't do it and we
have to conquer the spirit of mediocrity. We have to
ask God to give us the kingly anointing to battle, to
conquer, to plunder & bring in the finances into the
kingdom of God, to stand in the gap & build that hedge
for God.

2. New prayer requests:
i. Sue, Ralph & Carmen -- debski
Remember these 3 people & their families in your
prayers. God chose to take their mothers home this
week. Pray they find comfort in their times of sorrow.

ii. Proper Christ-like behaviour -- logan
I am a new Christian & have realized a lot of my
'normal' behavioral characteristics are not postive
for Christians. I am learning how to behave as a TRUE
CHILD OF GOD & I would like prayer to guide me. I am
reading the Bible daily & constantly praying to get
understanding as a result. Please pray that I continue
to grow as a Christian, not fall victim to known bad
behavior, & be enlightened to others that I need to
improve. Thank You very much!!

iii. Pray for full restoration to Christ -- guest
Pray for God to restore me, that I may do the will of
the Lord & win souls for Christ. I was out of the will
of God for 10 years! I have since rededicated my life.
However I am afraid that I have lost my gift of laying
on hands. Pray that God will restore this gift back to
me. Sometimes I feel so unworthy, so lonely. However I
know that God has never left me or forsaken.

iv. Job -- guest
Need a permanent job that I will have the rest of my
working life. I am 50 & single. Just finished a 3
month temp job…one of many. Have not had a job lasting
more than 6 month in over 5 years. I praise God that
he supplies all my needs according to his riches in
glory. I will praise His name through this test.

v. Delamar Rose & family -- pamela
Pray for Delmar who just found out that he has some
blockage at his heart! He is going for tests
today(wednesday 9-27. They dont know how bad it is or
anything until after the tests! Delmar is such a
wonderful man, always been like a 2nd dad to me! His
wife Debbie is a wonderful person who has always been
like a mommy to me, neither one of them are
christians! I pray that God will speak to their heart
before it is too late!)
