        (10/01/2000) from ownership to?

Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: from ownership to?

[1 Chronicles 29:3-5]
3 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the
house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of
gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my
God, over and above all that I have prepared for the
holy house.
4 Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of
Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver,
to overlay the walls of the houses withal:
5 The gold for things of gold, and the silver for
things of silver, and for all manner of work to be
made by the hands of artificers. And who then is
willing to consecrate his service this day unto the
Lord?

In the beginning of this chapter, David told his men
that he has provided with all his might all the
provisions necessary to build the temple of God. Over
and above that, he has also set aside his private
treasure, worth probably another USD1.2 Billion.
Knowing that everything is already provided for, he
asked his chiefs, princes of tribes, captains and
rulers to place an offering for the temple.

If you know that the need has already been met, how
much would you give? Yet these men gave about another
USD1.8 Billion in offering for the temple of God.

Charles Nieman was saying that he cannot fathom who
these people were and why they gave so much when David
has already provided so much provision. David answered
this in his prayer when he offered the people's
offering to God.

[1 Chronicles 29:14]
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be
able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all
things come of thee, and of thine own have we given
thee.

They knew that they were not owners but only stewards.
Everything in heaven and earth belongs to God.

As I grow older, I get more responsibilities. I have
to look after my bills, attend to my car, my
livelihood, etc. etc. A lot of which I hate to attend
to and sometimes I feel that all these things tend to
wear me down. But when I understand that I am not the
owner but only a steward of everything God has given
me, I look at my life at a different light. I have to
attend to everything that God has given me with a
spirit of excellence because I want to be a good and
faithful steward of my time, my money, my talent and
my resources. I am not just accountable to myself, I
am accountable to God.

Being a steward has its advantages. When you are the
owner, you are responsible for yourself. When you are
a steward, your Master is responsible for your
welfare. So, move from ownership to stewardship and do
not be afraid of giving to God because everything is
His in the first place.

iv. prayer for Linda -- ilovecats
My daughter has always struggled in school & is now 9
years old & still reading at a beginning 2nd grade
level (7 years old). I've just finished talking with
the school regarding retention to the 3rd grade (which
has been done)
However, they are a concerned after
testing her because over the summer she lost a whole
grade level in her reading level. They said, that it
is normal for a child to lose a little but not a whole
grade level, therefore they are going to be doing some
extensive testing to see how they can help her. Please
pray for her, also pray in the area of self esteem.
