        (08/21/2000) principle of working

Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: principle of working

[2 Thessalonians 3:10]
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you,
that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Sometimes we may grow weary of working but the bible
is very clear on this. If we do not work, we do not
eat.

[Deuteronomy 28:8]
The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy
storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand
unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the
Lord thy God giveth thee.

Sometimes, we wish that a wealthy inheritance will
just drop into our laps but many times this is not so.
God will command His blessings and bless us through
the work of our hands. One of the keys to enduring
prosperity is realising this principle and work not
unto men, but unto the Lord.

[Ephesians 6:5]
Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters
according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in
singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Remember the parable of the talents. God has given us
ability and skill to work and we are to use this
ability to produce fruit.

[Matthew 25:20-21]
20 And so he that had received five talents came
and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou
deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have
gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and
faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few
things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter
thou into the joy of thy lord.

Let us not be like the slothful servant who gave up
and buried that one talent into the ground [Matthew
25:24-28
].

2. New prayer requests:
i. Healing -- acts1
Please pray for Beverly, a friend in Chicago, who has
developed cancer of the throat & lungs. Pray for her
salvation as well as I am not sure that she is a
believer. I believe God can use her healing to draw
her to Him.

ii. lonely -- laura22
I have never been in love, I think I might have found
a possibility with a new man I met. Please pray that
we will be together.

iii. pray like never before 'cause I need it -- guest
Pray for my friend C. She just learned that she has
bone cancer. I am really apprehensive about everything
& I just found out that my job will release me to
spend 5 days with her. I am so anxious about all of
this because I just lost my own parents over 6 years
ago within 3 days of each other. I do not feel like my
friend will pass away.. I feel that God can do
anything. But it is bringing up all of my grief from
my parents. I am not sure whether to go see her or
not. I just can't handle any of this right now. I am
still processing everything that she told me. Please
pray for me because I want to do what is right -but I
do not want to be in grief and depression. This is
hard for me because she herself is like a mother to
me. I feel so unsure right now. I want God to lead me
in what to do. I also want to spend quality time with
her. When my mother passed away -God prompted me to go
home & I didn't because I did not know she was ill.
But I feel like I cannot do what I did not do -please
pray for my peace in the situation. My mentor died 5
years ago & my best friend at my church committed
suicide 5 years ago. My boyfriend from high school
killed himself 12 years ago. I just cannot handle
losing anyone else. Just typing this has made me
realize -I will have to love from afar. I love this
person -but I am in no shape to give any strength in
the area of death. I only want life for all.
