(08/15/2000) principle of saving


Hello prayer warriors, 1. Prayer note: principle of saving [Proverbs 21:20] There is treasure to be desired & oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. (KJV) The Living Bible says: [Proverbs 21:20] The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets. (TLB) One of the principles for enduring prosperity in the bible is saving. I was reading a book by Dr. John Lim and he also touched on this subject. The reason why there is treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise is because they do not spend all they earn. If we consistently spend all that we earn (and some of us even spend what we haven't earned through our credit card), we are considered foolish. And if God were to prosper us, that prosperity might destroy us if we are foolish with our money. [Proverbs 1:32] For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Some people believe that we should save for a rainy day. But we should not be saving money because we are waiting for that rainy day because we attract what we fear most. We are to trust in the Lord. If we are already in huge debt, saving will not rebuke the devourer for us, we know it is our tithing and giving that rebukes the devourer and reverses the financial situation [Malachi 3:10-12]. We save so that we can put our money to work for us. We can invest our money wisely into a business, into mutual funds or in other areas and our savings enable us to give more to God. It enables us to give at a higher level, to give big and to receive a bigger financial breakthrough. If you are in financial difficulty now, save so that you can ... It started out with marijuana then when crack cocaine came out it took a toll on my family. Pray that they will recongnize the tricks of the devil. This satisfaction they are trying to achieve by doing drugs can only come through God's Love and Grace. They know who Jesus is but will not accept him as their Lord and Savior. Satan have them in bondage for their souls. Prayer update: i. Prayer request update -- abrown I want to thank all those who prayed for me in my time of need. I had a laprosopic operation to remove an ectopic pregnancy & everything went well. After a week I am back at work & feeling fine. Thanks to God almighty & thanks to my brothers & sisters in Christ. 4.
