Prayer Email archive: (07/09/2000) the 2nd W |
hello prayer warriors,
1. prayer note: the 2nd W We talked in the last email about developing sensitivity to God's voice. I shared about my pastor's message and that there are 5 Ws that we need to learn. The first W : Withdraw Here comes the 2nd W [Habakkuk 2:1] I will stand at my watch and STATION myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. (NIV) The 2nd W: Wait I will station myself on the ramparts. I will wait. We have to stay put and not be distracted and wait on God. [Psalms 5:3] In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. (NIV) Many times we pray and we say our peace and lay our requests before God but we stop there. We do not wait because probably we do not expect to hear from God. One of the most important things to do is to come in prayer in expectation because this is an exciting time with the Lord. If we expect and we wait for a reply, then we truly understand prayer ... that prayer is an exchange and a time for us to communicate with God. It is not a monologue but a dialogue. [Psalms 66:18] If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; (NIV) Waiting and not hurrying also helps us to calm our thoughts and emotions and to keep our conscience clear. It is always good to come before God and confess our sins and to keep our conscience clear so that we can come, focus on God and not ourselves and wait in expectation. 2. New prayer requests i. what am I going to do? -- sabgreen I'm a korean(female) christian. I want to be a art missionary someday. but it's not easy. My mom doesn't want ... and I don't have any information about that. and ... I'm not good at English. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=235&table=prayer&reptable=replies ii. Miracles -- richard (waihun: this is an excerpt. Richard's daughter was involved in an accident and has been in a coma. She is now out of the hospital and she and her own children are now staying with Richard. ) We ask for prayers that our needs would be met, our finances are expended as well, and have all had to endure the mounting bills and to absorb the additions to our home. Many a night I lay awake and restless, But I find comfort in His Word. I remember the promises that our Lord has kept, the words that many men and woman have shared over the years. It is through the faithfulness of our Lord and by His Will be done that I know that somehow someway, He will see us through this ordeal! Our Lord ask us to... "prove Him". Please stand with me in prayer, Please pray that I not be alone, Please help me keep a dry eye and focused on the Word of our trusted Savior and Lord of Lords! Please pray that we find peace and strength in Him. So many years I have found myself ministering to others in sickness and in trials. Now I find myself in need. As I wait upon the Lord, for his ways are numerous and blessings fulfilling, let me be worthy of His blessings as I know that He is worthy of our praise and worship. Oh what a comfort I find in expressing this dilemma and knowing that He is already answering my pleas. He has already begun to heal and restore my daughter. ... I remain Your faithful servant and Your friend, Richard DeGracia. http://mydevotion.com/logos/asp/viewpyrrep.asp?forumid=5&forumtype=2&topicid=236&table=prayer&reptable=replies 3. Prayer update: i.
