   Prayer Email archive:
        (09/07/2001) a new day

Hello prayer warriors,

P.S. I am having some problems with my email. If you
have received this twice, please ignore this one.
Thanks.

1. Prayer note: a new day

Many people carry a very heavy baggage on or about
them. Many times it may not even be the baggage of
sin. It is the baggage called our past.

[2 Corinthians 5:17]
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new.

I never truly understood the impact of this until I
realised that I need to put my past behind me. It is
not forgetting the past, but it is refusing to hold
on to it or to hold on to the thoughts or emotions
that come from our past. It is refusing to dwell in it
and understanding my new identity in Christ. It is not
allowing anyone or anything to rob me of the joy of
the new things that God has in store for me. It is
realising that there is only one way to move and
that is to move forward.

With God, we can start on a clean slate. It is like
God has given us a blank sheet of paper and saying
that old things are gone, all things have become
new. Now, chart your course.

Many of us have this clean sheet of paper in front
of us but we don't realise it. The sheet of paper
looks tainted only in our minds.

[2 Corinthians 10:4-5]
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ;

If we dwell in something long enough, it will become
a stronghold in our lives. These strongholds are
imaginations and things that exalt themselves
against the knowledge of God. God has said that old
things are passed away, all things become new. Believe
it because it is in the Word and start living it. Stop
dwelling in your past and start looking forward. Live
a new life in Christ every day and you will live less
in the flesh. Realise that each day is a new day and
each day, God has given you and me a new beginning.

2. Special note:
i. Pray for me -- waihun
Prayer warriors, please pray for me. I have recently
gone for a church retreat and my pastor was telling
us the importance of being transparent. I have been
feeling a little tired and weary lately and have
found difficulty replying to your emails or even
attending to new prayer emails. So, if I haven't
replied to some of your emails, please forgive me.
Please pray. Thanks in advance.
