        (06/14/2000) to forgive because...

Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: to forgive because...

[Luke 7:37-43]
37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a
sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the
Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of
ointment,
38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and
began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them
with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and
anointed them with the ointment.
39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it,
he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were
a prophet, would have known who and what manner of
woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have
somewhat to say unto thee. And he says, Master, say
on.
41 There was a certain creditor which had two
debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the
other fifty.
42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly
forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them
will love him most?
43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to
whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast
rightly judged.

Why do we forgive? Simple ... because we have been
forgiven. When Jesus cried out to the Father when he
was crucified "Forgive them for they know not what
they do" [Luke 23:34], I think He referred not only to
those who crucified Him or those who cried out
"Cruficy Him!". He also forgave those of us who stood
by the side, who promised our unfailing love to Him
and who failed. Those like Peter who said that He will
never deny Jesus and yet, when put to the test denied
Jesus three times. [Luke 22:61]

Jesus asked for the Father to forgive all of us ...
everyone of us so that we can be set free, so that we
can understand grace and how much it is to be forgiven
and to learn to apply this grace and forgive others.

All of us have sinned and fallen short. So, we need to
follow in Jesus' footsteps and forgive those whom we
loved and who hurt us, those who betrayed us, those
who stood by the side and did nothing, thosed who
laughed behind the scenes and derided us, those who
rejected us. Jesus had all of these and much more and
He chose to still step up on the Cross for us so that
we can be free from sin, from bitterness and from
unforgiveness. So that nothing and no one can rob us
of the freedom that He has wrought for us, and from
the joy of His salvation.

So, let us come before Jesus and say "Lord, help me to
forgive and set me free."

2. New prayer requests:
i. Hopes and Dreams Part II -- susankayphillips
Hi Prayer Partners: Please continue to keep me and my
husband Chuck in your prayers. We are still
experiencing alot of problems in conceiving a child.
We never thought it would be like this and things, at
this moment, are not hopeful to me. Everyone is
hopeful but I. Maybe my faith is shaken at this time
but I ask for continued prayer for healing and the
blessing of children. Thanks to you all and may God
bless each of you. Susie.

ii. Racial discrimination and prejudice -- judy
Please pray against the spirit of racial
discrimination and racial prejudice among Filipino
nurses working in Tawam Hospital, United Arab
Emirates. Salary, housing accomodation and other
benefits are based according to you nationality in
your passport and not according to your
qualifications. We do the same workload as all
Europeans and Middle-east nurses but we are not
compensated. They look down so much on us and even
with other Asians like Indians, Sri-Lankans, Chinese
and Singaporeans. This is a very strong Muslim country
but we Christains here claim by faith that if we
Christians unite together in the whole world then this
place will experience revival and the stronghold of
the enemy will be demolished. God bless.

own. -- iamajfreak
Basically, just to have the strength to do what I know
is right and to spread his love to whome ever he
places in front of me to witness to. Pray that I get
through all the sins that I am struggling with and
give my life 100% to him.
