Prayer Email archive: (08/24/2001) taking control of problems |
Hello prayer warriors,
1. Prayer note: taking control of problems [Matthew 16:33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Part of being happy is learning to live with challenges and problems. None of us are spared from problems or troubles and that was never promised in the bible. We will all be subjected to the stresses of life. I've mentioned before that a little bit of stress is healthy. However, there are two types of stress. One of them is from doing work. The other type of stress comes from not doing work that we are supposed to do. Guess which one is more damaging? It's the stress that comes from not doing work. It is many times more potent, more enduring and more devastating than the first kind. Why? That is because problems do not solve themselves by sweeping them under the carpet. And I've mentioned before that chaos grow on you when left uncontrolled. We cannot eliminate stress by trying to postpone stress. It doesn't work that way. We need to deal with the issue. If the problem seems too overwhelming or too big, break the problem down into smaller problems and tackle them one by one. Nothing is insurmountable especially when we can do ALL things through Christ who STRENGTHENS us [Philippians 4:13]. To de-stress ourselves in this type of situation, we need to do something to overcome the problem. The cure for stress from avoiding work is to work. [Proverbs 10:4] He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. Put aside negative emotions that is hampering you from working on the problem. Ask God for help and wisdom. Do not let your emotions rule you but be led by the Spirit of God. [2 Timothy 1:7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Make a resolution to do something to make order out of the chaos. When you start taking these steps and you start overcoming, you will find peace. Whatever your situation, you can overcome because He has overcome. 2. Other notes: i.
