        (07/10/2001) why no harvest?

Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: why no harvest?

[Galatians 6:7]
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a
man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I was initially very troubled when Charles Nieman
mentioned the Phillips Translation's version of this
verse: "a man's harvest in life depends entirely on
the seeds that he sows". Sounds logical and yet I
rejected it. I've seen real cases where people have
sown and yet there was little or no harvest. You
sometimes see people sowing all their energy into a
relationship or into a business but they still end up
in failure. The empirical data violated almost
everything that [Galatians 6:7] said.

God is so good. He answered me and gave me the
revelation. Why is it sometimes we sow and there is
little or no harvest?

[Mark 4:3-8]
3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by
the way side, and the fowls of the air came and
devoured it up.
5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not
much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it
had no depth of earth:
6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and
because it had no root, it withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew
up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield
fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth,
some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

It depends on the ground that we sow in. The bible is
so clear on so many matters. God shows us what is good
ground. He shows us through His Word, He shows us
through the inner witness of the Holy Spirit. He leads
us in the way that we should go.

Sometimes we fail to reap any harvest. Sometimes it is
not harvest time yet and we need to wait. But
sometimes we need to examine the ground and ask God
whether we are to move on to good ground where our
sowing will bring forth a yield that may be thirty,
sixty or even hundred fold.

Whether it is in business, or in relationships, we
need to ask God for wisdom. Certain things are not in
God's will for us and we are sowing on stony ground.
Any seed that you plant on stony ground will not grow.
Seeds that you plant on shallow ground will not last.
Many heart-aches can be avoided if we only listen,
obey and move on. He is the One who teaches us to
profit. He is the One who leads us. His way is better
than our way. His way will cause us to produce yield
more than we can ever imagine because He will always
lead us to good ground.

[Isaiah 48:17]
Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of
Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to
profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou
shouldest go.
