        (06/06/2000) enduring health

hello prayer warriors,

1. prayer note: enduring health

We have been talking about healing in the recent
prayer emails. What happens when we pray and nothing
happens?

Faith means that we touch God and we believe that He
has healed us 2000 years ago and we appropriate that
healing on the Cross by faith, based on His Word. Do
we visit doctors still? Of course we do. Apply wisdom.
Doctors and herbs and vitamins are all gifts from God.
But ultimately, our faith is in God. He has the last
word about our health. If the doctor says that you
have two years to live, find out what God has to say.
He is the Alpha and the Omega [Revelations 1:8] and He
has the last Word.

Not everyone gets instant healing. Derek Prince
developed a rare skin condition which was incurable in
the climate of Egypt and he laid in the hospital for
one year. God gave him a revelation in the book of
Proverbs.

[Proverbs 4:20-22]
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear
unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them
in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and
health to all their flesh.

The Hebrew word for health is marpe, meaning medicine.
So, while he was in the hospital, he read the Word
three times a day and he called it his medicine. God
healed Derek Prince gradually but totally and
permanently when he diligently studied His Word.

I also heard a testimony from Pastor Lois Chiew. She
saw someone healed of Parkinson's disease in a meeting
and she prayed for God to heal her father of the same
disease. She took him to every miracle healing meeting
and waited for her father to be slain and healed
instantaneously. It never happened. Then one day, a
brother in Christ came to her house and started
discipling her father and feeding him with the Word.
Her father was healed gradually by learning the Word.

So, when we pray for someone, do not just lay hands
and pray and leave the person without the Word. It
doesn't even have to be verses on healing because
God's Word is health to all our flesh. His Word
produces enduring health.

2. New prayer requests:
i. Mike's drive to Alaska -- brenda
My son, Mike, came home on leave from the army. We
live in Michigan and he in Alaska. He is driving back
alone and in a not so new car via the Alaskan
Pipeline. Please pray for a safe journey.

3. Continue to pray for:
i. Pray for Roger's father -- waihun
Please pray for Roger's father. He is one of our
prayer warriors, rtkm, and his father, Tan Sue Yong,
has been missing for 7 days. He left home at 2:30 pm
on 23rd May 2000 and has not returned. He is 83 years
old and still physically fit except that he is
suffering from senile dementia and Alzheimer. Roger
has already lodged a police report and they have been
searching for him without any success. Please pray for

a successful rescue operation and that the angels of
God will protect him and keep him safe and for Roger
too. Pray for his mother who is not a Christian and
has been consulting mediums since his father went
missing. To find out the latest status on his dad,
