Prayer Email archive: (01/28/2001) ministry thru submission |
Hello prayer warriors,
1. Prayer note: ministry thru submission Another important aspect of ministry that I want to cover today is submission. [Numbers 11:16-17] 16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. 17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: & I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; & they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone. One thing that I have learned is that God appoints men or women as leaders. He does not appoint committees. That is why the anointing falls on the man of God and the man of God then selects people chosen by God and passes the authority to the others who will then carry the anointing of God. That is why it is so important to submit. Whatever we think of the leaders, these are people appointed by God and there is order in every organization. God appoints the pastor who appoints the leaders. The leaders carry the anointing of God because they have been chosen into their office. Submission does not mean that we cannot disagree or speak our minds. Submission, however means that we recognize the authority that God has set in order and we submit to that authority because we submit to God. What if we do not agree with our leaders or our pastor and cannot submit? [Amos 3:3] Can two walk together, except they be agreed? If we cannot agree, we cannot walk together. Two visions mean division. Do you want to be guilty of creating division in the things of God and go against the leader that God has appointed? If the leader is not walking in the ways of God, let God deal with the leader but let our hands be clean of the sin of rebellion. [1 Samuel 15:23] For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, & stubbornness is as iniquity & idolatry. If you really cannot agree, I would suggest that you leave that ministry than to rebel and create division. I believe though that in most instances God wants us to continue to persevere in our ministry and to submit. That is the true test of leadership. If you cannot submit to someone else, you are not ready to lead. 2. New prayer requests: i.
