        (05/11/2000) revelation of His grace

Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: revelation of His grace

[2 Corinthians 12:9-10]
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for
thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon
me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in
reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in
distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then
am I strong.

I've heard a lot about grace but I've always found it
difficult to explain because grace encompasses so many
things. We are saved by grace not by our works. I
heard a good explanation of the difference between
mercy and grace.

Mercy: when you do not get what you deserve
Grace: when you get what you do not deserve.

I've just had a revelation of what His grace meant and
a phrase that I can identify with to describe His
grace. I got this revelation from the story of Moses
which my pastor tells very often.

Moses spent the first 40 years of his life discovering
what he can do. He was educated in all the wisdom of
the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.
Then, when he began to identify with his roots, he
fled to the desert and spent the next 40 years
discovering what he cannot do. It was at the backside
of the desert, at mount Horeb, that he had an
encounter with God (the burning bush experience). God
asked him to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt
and Moses' response was "Who am I?".

[Exodus 3:11-12a]
11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should
go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the
children of Israel out of Egypt?
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee;

That encounter started the change in His life, when
Moses discovered not who he is, not what he can do or
cannot do, but discovered what God can do in His life.
Doesn't this sound very familiar to most of us? We
spent the beginning parts of our lives discovering
what we can do, we spent the next discovering what we
cannot do, and hopefully now, we can look at our lives
and discover what God can do in our lives. That is
grace and those of us who find His grace easier to
understand are those of us who have been broken. We
experienced brokenness when we realised that our
destiny is not in our hands and many things are out of
our control. Then, in our brokenness, we can come
before God and say and believe "Your grace is
sufficient for me for Your strength is made perfect in
my weakness".

To me that is what grace is, in one phrase:
discovering what God can do in my life.

2. New prayer requests:
i. Doing God's will not my own -- Ronda
I feel like God is speaking to my soul for me to do
something for others, but I want to make sure this is
of God and not of myself. Please pray that it is what
God wants me to do and if so then God will also
impress His will on my husband. If this is of God then
my husband and I must come into agreement due to funds
that will need to be spent. We are all ready on a very
tight budget. Thank you, Ronda.

i. marriage problems -- guest
To All, I am requesting your prayers to help me and my

wife over come problems and become a family again. We
have both made some pretty big mistakes in our 9 years

of being married. We have 2 beautiful children and I
want us to overcome our differences and work together.
