(05/03/2000) in line with His people

hello prayer warriors,

1. prayer note: in line with His people

We've covered validating God's voice or what God tells
us. Is it in line with His Word (the Bible), and is it
in line with His character.

Now, we have a third dimension, His people.

[Ephesians 4:11-13]
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets;
and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work
of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of
Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and
of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect
man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of
Christ:

Paul heard God on his way to Damascus [Acts 9:1-18].
God has called him to bear God's name before the
gentiles. Yet, in [Acts 13:1-3], many years after the
Damascus experience, we see God speaking to Paul
through the elders in the church of Antioch confirming
what God has initially called Paul to do.

[Acts 13:2-3]
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy
Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work
whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted
and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent
them away.

What does that mean? God uses His people, especially
His elders to confirm what He has told us. I've
received prophecies which are confirmed by different
people in my church, and I know that they did not
first concur with one another what to say to me. It
was God, confirming to me, and reassuring me of what
He has already told me.

So, sometimes, when we are unsure, seek God and ask
Him to send His people to confirm His word to us.
However, to do that, we usually have to be in the
company of believers. If we are far away from the
family of God and we do not belong to a church, it
will be difficult to receive a word through His people
when we stay away.

[Proverbs 11:14] Where no counsel is, the people fall:
but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

2. New prayer requests:
i. pray for Ginia's family -- Ginia
Lately, my family hasn't been like we used to be. My
sister's 17 and she and my mom haven't been getting
along very well. They fight constantly and it seems
like my sister's constantly grounded. My dad has been
talking to a pastor at our church and I hope that he
will tell my dad how to help get our family happy
again. We used to always get along and only fight
occassionally but now my sister's always mad and my
mom's always cranky and she takes it out on the rest
of us. I just wanted you to pray for my family that
God will work with us and help us to remember that He
will get us through anything. I don't think my family
spends as much time with Him as we need to. I think He
is what will get us through our problems. I want you
all to pray that my family will stop fighting and look
to God for the answer. ~In Him~ -Ginia

3. Continue to pray for:
i. husband -- taby810
My husband is going through a very hard spiritual
battle. The enemy is trying to tell him that he has no
more chances with God. He has an evangelistic calling
on his life. Please pray that God shows him that the
enemy is lying to him. I have listened to the leading
of God and it is PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
God Bless each and every one of you for your
prayers!!! - taby810
