(11/27/2000) edifying the spirit


Hello prayer warriors, 1. Prayer note: edifying the spirit One of the ways to edify the spirit is to increase the intake of the Word of God. Many times we are not edified because we have listened to the wrong source. [Romans 10:17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are the outcome of the input that we receive. [1 Peter 2:2] As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If we want to grow, we need to study and listen to the Word of God. [John 6:63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. How do we continue to grow in our Christian walk and how do we get excited continually? [John 4:23-24] 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. God wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. I am still trying to graple with this verse but I believe that when God says that He wants to worship Him in truth, He meant the Word of God. It is the Word of God that edifies and cause our spirit to leap within us to worship Him. When we hear the Word, our spirit responds in agreement and we start changing our perspective of reality. Reality is not what we see. There is a higher reality and a greater truth, and that is in the Word of God. [2 Cor 4:18] While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. I read Jerry Savelle's revelation on this verse which has completely inspired me. The revelation is this: what is seen is temporal, which means what is seen is subject to change. What is not seen is eternal. God is able to change things and what He has set in His mind eternally to do will be done if we wait for it and not give up. But we can only stand when we stand on His Word, and when we learn not to be frustrated, but to be edified and worship Him in truth. 2. New prayer requests: i. Pray for me to meet my mate -- guest I am asking for prayer for me to meet my soul mate! I am a blessed woman, I am ready for the Lord to bless me, with my husband. This man of God will work with me as a team, to fulfill our mission that God's has for us! I will continue to seek ye first the kingdom of God. Prayer for friends marriage -- christiandeb Please pray for friends of mine, whose marriage is in a state of disarray. (They are separated at the moment), Both are confessing to be Christians & they have two little boys & a third child due in two months time. Urgent prayer for grieving family -- christiandeb Pray for the family of an elderly friend of mine (we went to the same church). This lady was found dead in her cottage yesterday. She had OD'd on her medication. No one is sure if it was accidental or not. She has two daughters & a son. None of them know the Lord. Pray for them to come to know him & that He would comfort them at this time. Pray for me also. I was ministering to this lady. I feel really sad. Please pray for Judy -- bina I requested prayer almost 2 months ago for Judy Webb, she has cancer of the brain. The cancer is spreading through her body rapidly. She has been on the up & up in her spirits, but that devil is still fighting her. She was admitted to the hospital last night, maybe it's pneumonia or bronchitis or just the cancer! God is good -- toya Recently I had ask for prayers for my teenage daughter who was pregnant. I would not go into all the details but I would like to thank you all for your prayers. My daughter is doing great & she is attending church along with her boyfriend. 4.
