Prayer Email archive: (04/27/2000) His Word protects |
hello prayer warriors,
1. prayer note: His Word protects [Psalm 1:1-3] 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. We talked in the last email about not damaging ourselves or others by going against His Word. We mentioned that God will not ask us to do something that is against His Word. If we go against His Word, will He forgive us? Of course He will, IF we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness [1 John 1:9]. But there are sometimes natural consequences of our sin if we deliberately sin. David went against God's commandments when he coveted for another man's wife, Bathsheba, and committed adultery with her. After which he plotted to have Uriah (Bathsheba's husband), who is also one of his soldiers, killed in battle. Nathan then came and prophesied over David. [2 Samuel 12:11] Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. Do you know who was the person that laid with David's concubines? It was his own son, Absalom under the advice of Ahithophel who was one of David's counsellors. Do you know who Ahithophel was? Ahithophel was Bathsheba's grandfather. You can trace the genealogy from these scriptures [2 Samuel 11:3] & [2 Samuel 23:34]. God's Words are to protect us and when we delight in them, we will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bring forth our fruit in its season; our leaves also shall not wither; and whatsoever we do shall prosper. God is able to make ALL things work together for good [Romans 8:28] irregardless of what we have done, but let us learn to want to avoid some of the situations that we put ourselves through by going against His Word. 2.
