(11/12/2000) protecting your spirit man


Hello prayer warriors, 1. Prayer note: protecting your spirit man [Proverbs 20:27] The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all the inner depths of his heart. We've talked in the last email about the real you and that your spirit man is the one who is most sensitive to the Spirit of God and can communicate with God. [2 Cor 7:1] Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. (NIV) It is possible for our spirit man to be contaminated. One of the ways is by having fellowship with the wrong company. [2 Corinthians 6:14] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? We are in the world but not of the world and it is important who we mix with. I've heard a tape by a financial guru and one of the keys of his success was mixing with the right people. We sometimes undermine the importance of this. Even though we need to reach out to others and have friends, but who do we get advice from? How many times in your life have you gone the wrong way and done the wrong things because you did not get the advice of God-fearing people. One of my friends used to mix with a group of people who were depressed. She says that after every session with them, she feels even more depressed and a little suicidal. [Luke 1:41] And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: John the baptist was filled with the Holy Ghost while in the mother's womb because his mother Elisabeth came into contact (not even physically touching but they were near) with Mary who had Jesus in her womb at that time. There is a transferrance of spirit when we come together. Anointing can be imparted. In the same manner, negative spirits can also be imparted. How do we then mix with the right people? You need to be in a church that encourages fellowship among believers. If you feel that your spirit man is contaminated because of wrong fellowship, make a commitment to fellowship with the right people and pray for God to bring the right people into your path. The best place to meet the right people is in a good church. If you are not already attending church, make a commitment to do so. Many times, our lives and the paths that we take depend on this. [Proverbs 11:14] Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. 2. New prayer requests: i. prayer for dear friend -- christiandeb Pray for a dear friend of mine, who wishes to remain anonymous . She is suffering from Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue & a variety of other disorders. She really needs healing. She is a christian, but at present, is having a real battle. She is really scared & I feel that I can't comfort her. She has always done everything to keep her in good health, but she doesn't know what happened. We, my grandmother & I, are really super close. We share a lot of the same feelings & right now, she is one of my few outlets for frustration. I don't know where I would be without her. The even more scary part is that breast cancer is genetic. My mom, my sister, & I could all get this horrible disease. I am really scared not for myself but for my grandmother. I'm very frustrated & disappointed right now. It seems the harder I have tried in life, the worse things have got. I believe in God & always have, but I do not trust him anymore, and have not for years. I feel like I will always be one of those "just started, but never finished projects sitting on the shelf in the garage", in God's economy. I just wish he had different plans for me. Pray for neil -- judy Christian greetings from the United arab Emirates. I have a Christian friend who finally decided to surrender his life to God - his name is Neil. He is in a constant struggle against his old ways & his desire to follow God. I can see his desire to really follow God but he is really attacked by satan both physically & emotionally. Pray for him that God will give him the strength to say no to sin & and to stand up for his commitment to Christ. Pray also for healing. He is suffering from severe chest pain due to a fall/bruised chest. Prayer update: i. God does answer prayers!! Please read!! - bina (excerpt:)updates for my sister, Michelle Rose Baker. The accident occurred on 10/5/00 & after many surgical procedures while she was at UK Med. Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Yesterday 11/8/00 she was transferred to Hazard ARH Rehabilitation Unit in Hazard, Kentucky (which is much closer to home) for therapy to learn to walk & regain the use of all her muscles again!!This only reinforces what I already knew was possible.. MY GOD DOES HEAL!! When she was flown to UK Med Center on 10/5/00.. one of the nurses informed me that when she arrived at UK, the team that was working with her had called back to Whitesburg & informed them that there was no hope, she wasn't going to live. This only goes to show that my God is in complete control! thanks to everyone who prayed, Bina 4.
