(10/30/2000) knowing the will of God

Hello prayer warriors,

1. Prayer note: knowing the will of God

[John 8:32]
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make
you free.

How do we know what is the will of God in our lives
and is it important to know? Many times we spend so
much of our lives searching for God's will when it can
easily be found.

Let's look at the verse before.

[John 8:31] Then said Jesus to those Jews which
believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are
ye my disciples indeed;

The truth and many times the will of God is found in
His Word. His Word tells us that He wants us to have
abundant life, good health, prosperity, etc. His Word
tells us that He is a good God and He does not plan on
destroying us.

I am now reading a book by Ray McCauley and I'd like
to share some of his thoughts on this. Why is it
important to know God's will?

"i. because our faith begins where the will of God is
known. If you don't know that it is God's will to heal
you, you can never have faith to believe God for your
healing.
ii. because when you know what God's will is in a
situation then you can fight the good fight of faith -
you can apply the spiritual principles for God's will
to be done in the situation.
iii. because then you can stand wearing the armour of
God."

Many people will go to God in ignorance concerning His
will and say, "God, you are in control ... whatever
will be will be." That is sometimes the most dangerous
position and stance to take in life. We stop fighting
for what is ours, we stop having vision and we stop
pursuing the life of faith that God wants us to have.
We need to pursue God's will for us by visualizing, by
praying and by fighting until we receive the
breakthrough and live in God's perfect will for us. We
start by spending time in His Word discovering His
will for us.

[John 15:7]
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall
ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

2. New prayer requests:
i. Pray for me & my church -- pirlee
Pray that I will continue to grow in Christ & for my
church who has let the enemy in & that our eyes are
opened to recognize the work of the enemy & that we
stand on faith that even though things are happening
in our church that nothing happened without God
allowing it to happen & that we recognize that He has
allowed it to happen for a reason & that we recognize
and submit to His Will. I know that this is the only
way that change is going to come.

ii. Pray for Camille -- guest
Pray that the Light & Love of God pervade the life of
a small child, Camille Ko. That the darkness that has
been so much a part of her experience be cast out,
never to return. May a peaceful, healing & final
resolution be obtained during this time of spiritual &
emotional conflict & may the Love of God triumph &
Truth be known. We ask for this in the name of Jesus.
May His will be done. Amen

iii. Pray for Darrin -- doug2k
Please pray for Darrin in Mobile, Alabama. He has
cancer.

iv. Job testing -- glory
I started a new job last week. The training is
interesting but very difficult. We are tested every
few days, & must score 80% in order to keep our jobs.
This will go on for over three months. I have a test
today. I really want to keep this job, I REALLY need
this job, so please pray for me. Thank you.

3. Prayer update:
i. Update on Darren -- nadine
I want to tell all those that prayed for my brother
Darren & his wife Sarah, that we have been witness to
answered prayer!! As I posted very recently (right
before the server went down)
I was extremely worried
for Darren who, although a christian for the past 5
years, had stumbled & was battling with a violent &
threatening nature. Never before have I had to rely so
much on prayer in my life, as I was so far away
(they're in New Zealand & I'm in Argentina) & I
couldn't practically do anything - except PRAY! So I
got down on my knees & begged all I could to do the
same, believing that God would not allow Darren to be
snatched from His hand.. We prayed for a change of
heart, for Darren to turn his face back to God. Our
prayers were truly heard, for Sarah managed to get
Darren to talk for the first time in a year - he cried
3 times & admitted he had a problem with anger that he
couldn't control. We are still far from winning this
battle, but this is the first perhaps most significant
step, which I wish us all to praise the Lord for!
Thank you so much, to everyone.

4. Site update:
Praise God. The new site is up and you can access and
use it now. Most of the things are working except for
a few things here and there. I haven't got the
automatic response emails to work yet. But I believe
everything will be working in a week's time. Thank you
everyone so much for praying. God honours our prayers.
