(03/12/2000) Victory thru brokenness


hello prayer warriors 1. prayer note: victory thru brokenness [2 Cor 4:7] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. I remember some time ago talking to God and wishing that I did not have to go through some of the experiences that I went through. I told God that I do not think I will ever be completely healed from these experiences and I would look at everyone else's life and ask God, why can't I have a more normal life? (As if anyone in this world leads a "normal life") But God gave me His rhema word through [Jeremiah 29:11-14] For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile." I told God, it is not possible. If I have been scarred, can the scars be removed? Can I be brought back to the place before all these things have happened, as if nothing has happened before? One thing I have learned, I will remember my past, the scars will be there, but God can remove the feelings of hurt from the situation when I do remember. And God has fulfilled this promise that He has given me. He has done even more. With this experience, I have drawn so much closer to God, I have understood the revelation of His grace and His love towards me, I have learned how to overcome and I have experienced His consolation so that I know I can console others. Most importantly, I have understood what victory through brokenness means. [Gen 32:24-25] And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. Jacob wrestled with God and God broke the thigh of Jacob and Jacob had to limp from then onwards. God has to break Jacob's strength (his mind, intelligence and his leg) so that Jacob will learn to depend on God. Jacob could no longer run everytime he is in a tight situation, because that was what he was used to do. Now, he has to depend on God. Now, I look at my past and I thank God for my past. Because I know that God is moulding me for an enduring and BETTER future and He is teaching me how to depend on Him. 2. New prayer request i. salvation for lost loved ones -- 'I Love Jesus' (Tammie) My sister is a Christian, but she has strayed away from God. I don't think she is completely back-sliden, but she needs prayer for strength and courage to get her back in church again. She has dropped out of the prayer group because she is very ill. She had 16 major surgeries and the last one had to be halted in surgery, because her body was going into shock! She now lives in serious pain that cannot be corrected (except by GOD).
