        (03/10/2000) Our confession

hello prayer warriors

1. prayer note: our confession

[Psalm 54:2]
Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my
mouth.

I've learnt a very important lesson, but I consider
quite late in my life. I've learned the power of the
tongue:

[Proverbs 18:21]
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and
they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

I have been speaking blesses or curses into my own
life, into my relationships, into my business all by
myself. Every time I speak negative things and
proclaim it and speak despair into a situation, I
speak to the situation and to myself and to the people
involved. And these words have life-creating power or
death-begetting power which I have underestimated.
When I finally (when it finally sinked in) understood,
I explained this to one of my business partners. I
told him that if we said something negative enough
times, even if it isn't true, we will believe it and
be defeated by our very own words. He understood and
we had a change in our views of our business just by
changing our words.

I heard pastor Joseph Prince ask, "Why are some
Christians so blessed and some barely making it
through with their lives?" He believes it has to do
with what we confess with our mouths. Jesus is our
High Priest, your High Priest and my High Priest but
here's the catch:

[Hebrews 3:1]
Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly
call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of
our confession. (RSV)

Jesus is our High Priest, pleading our cause before
God, but what cause? : ... of what we confess.

2. New Prayer Request
i. Please pray for my friends -- guest (Todd Aiken)
As my brothers and sisters in Christ, I come to you
with an urgent request. I have three friends that
desperately need prayer. Unfortunately, I cannot
provide you with names nor the circumstances that each
one is in, but God knows exactly who they are and what
is going on in their lives. Would you please pray for
them and ask the Lord to do whatever it takes to show
them the wrong of their ways and to turn them back to
Him?

3. Prayer update
i. update on little Jack -- 1111
hi all, little Jack's infections have settled down and
are stable at the moment. Because of the drugs being
used, a v/v in his heart has reopened, and the blood
is not flowing through the lungs. docs have asked for
a miracle for the v/v to close so that they will not
have to operate.

Please continue to pray for little Jack

ii. update on Linda -- 1111
Linda is now walking on her leg, and since having
further surgery which removed scar tissue on the main
nerve, she now is starting to have feeling down her
leg to her toes. Praise be to God. The other knee is
popping out regularly and is requiring surgery. But is
grateful for everyones prayers.
