re:Matthew 24:24 | ||
This passage is speaking of the condition of time in this dispensation. Here Jesus is describing the amount of effort that will be launched against those who believe in Jesus during this time period. This launching is not only of energy, but full of craftiness. Also note in verse 21, the time period Jesus is speaking of is the Great Tribulation period. If we continue to believe in Him, when Jesus comes to gather the saints, we will not see this time period from below, but from above with our Savior. |

This passage is speaking of the condition of time in the last moments of this dispensation. Here Jesus is describing the amount of effort that will be launched against those in this time period. This launching is not only of energy, but full of craftiness. Also note in verse 21, the time period Jesus is speaking of is the Great Tribulation period. If we continue to believe in Him, when Jesus comes to gather the saints, we will not see this time period from below, but from above with our Savior. |

also remember in this scripture it does not say they will deceive, but "if it were possible even the very elect..." That leaves hope and means that we can and will still make it! |

The Greek word for elect (Eklektos) means "the best of its class", or the "chosen". Christ is referring to false prophets deceiving even the most dedicated christians, the leaders of our churches, and the people you would think could not be influenced by evil, or deceived by lies. |
