When Abraham gave up his "ghost" it was his "spirit." Just like the Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit are interchangable - so is this also...When we die, our spirit lives on, and our bodies die. Abraham was dying in his body, but his spirit was going up to heaven to live eternally.
