God changed Jacob's name to Israel. Refer to Genesis 35:10. It states, And God said to him, "Your name is Jacob; your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel shall be your name." So He called his name Israel. If you look at the 28th verse and the ones after 29 you can determine that Jacob (Israel) died at 147 years of age. |
