| Well, for me, it isn't a matter of liking the verse. There are numerous passages that are like this one that tell us to have compassion. Each of them, like this one, tell us to have compassion as if it were something we could just snap our fingers and instantaneously we're compassionate. Not having come across any biblical evidence to the contrary, I can only conclude that the ability to "have compassion" is something that the Lord Himself must work within us. | |

As we live our lives with God, and grow closer to him through study and let him work in our lives, he will give us the compassion we need. Compassion is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is a good thing and believe me, when there is compassion there is more peace in our lives. |
